Loveland Integrated School of the Arts

Thompson School District's Loveland Integrated School of the Arts (LISA) uniquely supports artists, musicians, and thespians from the start, emphasizing the importance of a community that nurtures its creative talents.

In 2007, the Thompson School District launched LISA with the help of the Erion Foundation to craft educational options for students with a passion for the arts. The curriculum is designed to integrate the arts in all classrooms and offer alternatives to traditional learning styles.

The LISA program is offered at Garfield Elementary School, Bill Reed Middle School, and Mountain View High School. While it is housed in Loveland, LISA proudly serves students from the entire Thompson School District and the communities surrounding it.  In 2025-26, nearly 900 students were enrolled in the LISA programs district-wide.

Arts opportunities are available both in the classroom and as extracurricular activities, including after-school classes, art, dance, choir clubs, and field trips to see performances at schools, the Rialto Theater, and art galleries. All three schools build background knowledge and experiences in the arts through outside-of-school experiences and artist-in-residence opportunities.

By creating a program that integrates the arts into core content classes, LISA adds relevance and interest to the school day. LISA students have shown better attendance, graduation, and SAT scores than the total school population at Mountain View High School. Bill Reed proudly offers many elective course options in art, music, and theatre. Garfield values the intentional involvement of the Loveland community in their programs.

Working with professional artists and businesses in the area is key to the program’s success. The LISA program hopes that by nourishing these young artists, Loveland will always have a thriving art community.

We hope you’ll consider being a part of LISA!
